Effective April 1st, 2017, 1199 will no longer administer Dental Benefits. This operation will be outsourced* to Emblem Healthcare. This decision was made by the Trustees of 1199SEIU and conveyed to the BFSA Executive Board on January 17th 2017 by Brandi Shiloh. This change directly affects 38 BFSA Members as well as the Management team of the department. As a directive from Mitra Behroozi, Executive Director of the 1199SEIU Benefit and Pension Funds there will be "no layoffs" as may occur in most other organizations. In collaboration with the Fund the BFSA will be working diligently to realign staff to other departments. This project will be implemented in phases and we will provide more information as it becomes available. *For information regarding the Funds ability to make such changes please refer to Management Rights Article XLII of the CBA.
